ZKTeco Cielo365, Readers, Biometrics and Entrance Control product overview

Products and selection guidance

ZKTeco lists Cielo365 for enterprise multi-site cloud access, reader families for RFID/mobile/biometric credentials, and separate turnstile, intercom, visitor, metal detection and X-ray categories. Do not combine these into a generic quote: each requires a product-specific capacity, privacy, code, network and operating plan.

  • Cielo365 enterprise cloud multi-site management
  • LG/KR/EP readers and ZKey/mobile credentials
  • Fingerprint/face/palm biometric privacy and enrollment
  • Turnstiles, visitor management, intercom and screening systems
  • Door, lock, free-egress, accessibility and fire-alarm requirements
  • Network, power, standby battery and outage behavior
  • Current licenses, subscriptions, firmware and integrations
  • Administrator training, backup, documentation and maintenance

Site-specific design

Boston High Tech inventories existing equipment and validates current manufacturer compatibility before specifying reuse, migration or replacement. Qualifications may be confirmed privately when needed; license numbers, certificate copies and named certificate-holder details are not published.

How to compare and specify this product family

For ZKTeco Cielo365, Readers, Biometrics and Entrance Control, the right model and architecture depend on the site, existing infrastructure and operating policy. A proposal should clearly document the following access-control system decisions before equipment is ordered:

  • Number and type of controlled openings
  • Controller, reader, lock and credential compatibility
  • Cloud or on-premise administration and ownership
  • Offline behavior, backup power and emergency operation
  • Directory, HR, video, visitor and elevator integrations
  • Licensing, cybersecurity, training and lifecycle support

Installation, testing and handoff

A site survey records each opening, door hardware, cable path, power, network, credential policy and integration requirement. The design then maps readers, controllers, locks, inputs, outputs and administrator roles to the operational workflow. Commissioning includes door-by-door functional tests, failure-mode and backup-power checks, permission and schedule tests, event verification, administrator training and as-built documentation. Product availability, subscriptions and supported integrations are confirmed for the current project before procurement.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about Cielo365, ZKTeco reader families, and the separate entrance-control and screening categories that share this portfolio.

Is Cielo365 door hardware, or the layer above it?

Cielo365 is listed for enterprise multi-site cloud access, so it is the management layer, and readers, locks and entrance-control equipment are selected underneath. That split matters for budgeting: the platform decision covers multi-site management, administrator accounts and subscriptions, while every opening still needs its own controller, reader, lock and credential compatibility check.

Why can’t the turnstiles, readers and screening equipment go on one quote?

Because the portfolio lists them as separate categories with different requirements. Turnstiles, visitor management, intercom, metal detection and X-ray each need a product-specific capacity, privacy, code, network and operating plan, and one combined line hides which of those plans is missing. Separate pricing also keeps the operating owner of each product visible.

Which decisions come with choosing fingerprint, face or palm readers?

Privacy and enrollment come first, listed here as fingerprint/face/palm biometric privacy and enrollment. Decide who enrolls users, what happens to a stored template when someone leaves, whether an alternative credential is offered to anyone who declines, and where enrollment takes place. Those answers change the reader count and the staffing plan, so settle them before quantities are priced.

What does a turnstile lane need beyond the turnstile itself?

Turnstiles arrive as a lane rather than a device on a wall. Plan a level, load-bearing floor, conduit and power to each pedestal, a network path back to the head end, reader mounting, and the accessible route around the lane. Door, lock, free-egress, accessibility and fire-alarm requirements apply to the whole entrance, including the adjacent swing door.

How is our existing equipment handled when we move to ZKTeco?

By inventory first. Boston High Tech inventories existing equipment and validates current manufacturer compatibility before specifying reuse, migration or replacement, so each reader, controller and credential type lands in one of those three groups before pricing. A single site can land in all three, and the migration order then follows the openings that matter most to you.

Does visitor management share records with the access system?

Record sharing is not automatic. The portfolio lists visitor management as its own category next to turnstiles, intercom and screening, so any exchange of records between visitor management and Cielo365 has to be named as a specific integration and confirmed against current ZKTeco documentation before pricing. Until then, plan for separate visitor and cardholder records.
