Aiphone product guide
Aiphone GT Multi-Tenant Video Intercom

A scalable Aiphone apartment and mixed-use entry platform for visitor calling, tenant answering and controlled release at shared entrances.

Aiphone GT Multi-Tenant Video Intercom product overview
Representative manufacturer product image. Final model and compatibility are confirmed during design.

What this product family does

GT designs are assembled from entrance modules, control equipment, tenant stations and door-release interfaces. The right design depends on resident count, number of entrances, building wiring, concierge workflow, accessibility, directory updates and whether mobile or cloud features are expected.

Products and decisions

Product area What it includes Selection guidance
Entrance Modular entrance stations, directory/display and camera configurations Size for tenant count, visitor search, mounting and environmental exposure
Residences Audio/video tenant stations and applicable app/cloud choices Decide which units need video, handset/hands-free operation and mobile answering
Management Programming, directory maintenance and property turnover workflow Assign responsibility for move-ins, move-outs, names, PINs and support
Retrofit Reuse of suitable existing pathways where documented Test cable topology and condition; do not promise reuse until surveyed

Questions to answer before quoting

  • Number of units, entrances and concierge stations
  • Required resident mobile experience and ongoing service
  • Existing riser cable type and accessibility
  • Lock, fire-release and elevator interface scope
  • Who owns administration, backups, updates and recurring services?
  • What must continue working during network, internet or power failure?
  • Which opening, egress, accessibility and life-safety requirements apply?
  • What training, documentation and preventive maintenance are required?

How to compare and specify this product family

For Aiphone GT Multi-Tenant Video Intercom, the right model and architecture depend on the site, existing infrastructure and operating policy. A proposal should clearly document the following video-surveillance system decisions before equipment is ordered:

  • Scene purpose and required pixels on target
  • Lens, mounting height, WDR, IR and low-light needs
  • Analytics supported by the selected camera and VMS
  • Bandwidth, PoE and network segmentation
  • Retention, storage throughput and export workflow
  • User roles, cybersecurity, health monitoring and support

Installation, testing and handoff

Design starts with the evidence or operational result required at each scene—not megapixels alone. We document fields of view, identification targets, lighting, camera placement, network load, recording profiles and retention assumptions. Commissioning covers focus, exposure, time synchronization, analytics calibration, user permissions, mobile or remote access, export testing and health alerts. Final documentation records device names, locations, addressing, retention settings and administrator procedures without publishing private credentials.

Frequently asked questions

Questions property managers ask before specifying a GT entry system for an apartment or mixed-use building.

Can we reuse the riser cable that is already in the building?

Not until it is surveyed. GT retrofit work allows reuse of suitable existing pathways where documented, so cable topology and condition are tested first and reuse is never promised in the proposal. Access to the riser matters as much as the cable itself, because a pathway that cannot be reached on upper floors changes the labor plan.

Do all apartments need a video tenant station?

No. You decide which units get video and which get audio, since GT residences are equipped with audio or video tenant stations. Handset or hands-free operation and mobile answering are chosen the same way, unit by unit. A building can mix them, and the count of each type drives the equipment schedule and the resident training that follows.

How is the entrance station sized for our number of units?

The entrance is assembled from modular entrance stations with directory, display and camera configurations sized to the tenant count and to how a visitor searches for a name. Mounting position and environmental exposure at that doorway feed the same sizing, since a station on an open street entrance is specified differently from one inside a heated vestibule.

What has to be settled about lock, fire-release and elevator interfaces?

All three are settled as one interface scope for the building, documented before equipment is ordered rather than assumed from the product line. GT designs are assembled from entrance modules, control equipment, tenant stations and door-release interfaces, so what a given building needs depends on entrance count, riser cable type and condition, and coordination with whoever maintains the other systems involved.

What still works if the internet or building power fails?

That depends on which functions the property requires during a network, internet or power failure, and on whether mobile or cloud features are part of the daily workflow. A building whose residents answer calls on phones carries a different exposure from one that answers at tenant stations. The property states what must keep working, and the design is built to that list.

When a tenant moves out, who removes the name from the directory?

The property names that owner before handover. Programming, directory maintenance and the property turnover workflow are assigned during design, covering move-ins, move-outs, names, PINs and day-to-day support. A building with a concierge may assign it to the front desk; a self-managed property may assign it to the manager. Either way, the named owner receives the training.
