For Alarm Lock Trilogy Networx, MVP and Gateways, the right model and architecture depend on the site, existing infrastructure and operating policy. A proposal should clearly document the following vehicle gate and traffic-control system decisions before equipment is ordered:

Installation, testing and handoff
A site review verifies gate construction, travel, wind exposure, traffic flow, power and the required monitored safety devices before an operator is chosen. The final scope should identify controls, loops, photo eyes, edges, access-control interfaces, emergency operation and signage. Commissioning includes force and safety-device tests, access tests, operator limits, user training and a maintenance schedule. Existing gates may require mechanical correction before automation can be installed safely.

One quote lists DL-Windows and another mentions an app. Which one is current?
DL-Windows and the app path are two different management routes, and a proposal should state which one it prices. MVP cloud/app versus DL-Windows is a real fork: current MVP cloud and app options with their enterprise integrations are separated from DL-Windows deployments, and which route your site can use depends on the lock models, gateways and firmware already installed.
How much wiring does a Networx retrofit actually require?
The cabling lands at the gateways rather than at each door. Trilogy Networx adds Ethernet, Wi-Fi and PoE gateway communication, so AL-IME gateways and expanders need network and power at their mounting points while the locks reach those gateways over the air. Door leaf wiring is avoided, which is why gateway placement carries the installation risk.
Why do you need to walk the building before quoting?
Because a radio survey is what determines gateway count and placement. Walls, elevator shafts, stair enclosures and metal doors all sit between a lock and its gateway, and a floor plan does not show how that plays out. The same walk verifies gateway capacity, firmware levels and host integration against what the building already runs.
Our doors are a mix of storefront, offices and stairwells. Is one lock family enough?
Expect more than one family on the schedule. Networx applies to compatible cylindrical, mortise, narrow-stile, exit-trim and keypad/reader devices, and a storefront leaf does not take the same body as an office door. The schedule draws from the Networx P/DL6200, 6600, 1300 and exit-trim families per opening, matched to handing, door thickness and existing prep.
Can we lock the whole building down from one screen?
Global lockdown is one of the Networx workflows listed alongside audit, door monitoring and battery maintenance, so a central lockdown command is part of what the platform is for. How far it reaches at your building depends on which openings are on Networx and how the gateway communication is laid out, which a radio survey and gateway capacity check settle. Decide who may trigger it and what releases the condition, and keep free egress intact.
Will these locks report into the access system we run for our card doors?
Only where host integration is verified for your combination of lock models, gateway firmware and management path, so that answer gets written after the check rather than assumed at proposal time. Verify gateway capacity, firmware and host integration together, since those three move as a set whenever either side is upgraded.
